John F. McAvoy, CFP®, AIF®
Principal

Education:
John F. McAvoy is a 1978 graduate of Clark University with a B.A. in Economics. He earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 1995 from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies in 2004. John is the Principal of Waterstone Retirement Services. He is an Investment Advisor with Investors Capital Advisory and securities licensed with Investors Capital Corporation. He is securities licensed in MA, NY, ME, FL and OR. John is also licensed by the Massachusetts Division of Insurance for life, health and variable insurance investments. John has studied various aspects of accounting, law, investments and insurance at Harvard University Extension School, Boston College and Babson College.

Experience:
Since 1992, John has been working with successful individual, business owners and public corporations to enhance and preserve wealth. John currently is a consultant for numerous corporate and individual clients. John began his career as a personal financial planner with American Express Financial Advisors working with individuals and families in matters financial. In 1995 John joined New England Advisory Group and began working with corporate clients with their qualified plans. John helped found DaVinci Capital Management in 1998 and has specialized in retirement plans since then. He is a member of The Financial Planning Association and the Boston Estate Planning Council.

Personal & Family:
John is happily married and the father of two children. They reside in Sharon, Massachusetts. John is a former marathon runner having successfully completed the Boston Marathon four times. His current interests include golf and Boy Scout meetings.
